In May 2008, Dr Kien Ling KHOO founded ADAMAS WEDDINGS SDN BHD, merging her passion for the creation of things extraordinary with a desire to assist all damsels in distress over the Big Day. ADAMAS is the Greek word for diamond - something so precious that it is not easy to search for a perfect one, once you have obtained it you ought to treasure it. Hence, it is not easy to search for your “other half”, once you have found him or her, do treasure and do enjoy every moment spent together.

Prior to launching her wedding consulting Company, Kien Ling spent nearly 5 years doing research at University of Leicester in the UK. She also worked for three years as the Quality Management Representative (QMR) for the Far East Paper Products Sdn Bhd.

Her work experiences may seem worlds apart but there is close resemblance between her science-based research and wedding consultation. During her course of research, constructing a model to investigate the movement of the ions in respect to the conditions of other neighboring ions and the external conditions which cannot be controlled was one of the routines. A simulated model needed to be constructed in order to predict the outcome of the system under such conditions.

This model is akin to organizing the details and weighing the overall condition in a calculation to achieve a particular outcome through the best approaches…
Every model is unique…. That’s simply because she writes it from scratch, via collecting information, analyzing data, calculating the possibilities and re-doing the process until a desired target is achieved.

This is similar to having a unique wedding. She will go through the 7 STEPS with her clients from the very first meet up for understanding what her clients have in mind then follow by the needs analysis, with that she will come out with proposal on ideas, themes, effects and she will make sure that her clients would be able to visualize the flow of the wedding, décor, effects, and looking forward to the Big Day with no stress. On the Big Day, she will be there throughout the event making sure that everything is on track.

Kien Ling holds a BEng (Hons) from the University of Leicester and a PhD from the same university.
