Live Interview on NTV7 The Breakfast Show – 16 December 2011, Friday

The Hosts are Naz & Joanne de Rozario, I presented each of them a signed copy of my very first book “99 Tips for Your Wedding“. The interview was about 15 mins and we covered mainly on the content of the book. For this interview, we just went straight in for the live interview without any discussion, it was not easy. But well… there is always a first time for everything. I must say the hosts are really experience and they can guide pretty well.

Photo below was taken during the live interview, thanks to the technology, the green background will be filled with ADAMAS video clip and the design of my book cover.

MALAYSIA’S FIRST LICENSED WEDDING SCHOOL LAUNCHES WEDDING PLANNING AND TRAINING FRANCHISE

Aspiring wedding planners offered choice of two start-ups options by ADAMAS Weddings

Kuala Lumpur, 26 November 2011 – ADAMAS Weddings Sdn Bhd, the leading wedding planning school in Malaysia and only licensed institute in the country that offers the Weddings Beautiful Malaysia and Singapore ( WBMS ) course that produces professional, certified wedding planners today marked a new milestone by launching its franchise business programme for aspiring wedding planners.

The launch of the ADAMAS franchise program. The event was witnessed and officiated by Franchise The launch of the ADAMAS franchise program. Development Division Director of the Ministry of Domestic Trade , Co-operatives and Consumerism Malaysia, Y. Bhg Datin Seri Elena Chiang Abdullah.

The event was witnessed and officiated by Franchise Development Division Director of the Ministry of Domestic Trade , Co-operatives and Consumerism Malaysia, Y. Bhg Datin Seri Elena Chiang Abdullah.

Founded by Dr Khoo Kien Ling, ADAMAS Weddings Sdn Bhd, a ISO-certified company began operations as a wedding planning services provider before branching out to establish a wedding planning school less than 5 years ago. The company was awarded approval to issue franchise licenses for wedding planning and training by the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism in September.

“The wedding planning industry is a healthy and thriving market to enter for anyone with a genuine love of weddings, great people skills and the desire and ambition to own a business,” she said. “ All you need is a passion for event planning, the right skills and a little creativity.”

The launch of the ADAMAS franchise program is timely and in line with the Malaysian government’s call to encourage a more vibrant entrepreneurial spirit among youths and create more successful young entrepreneurs in our society,” said Y. Bhg Datin Seri Elena Chiang Abdullah, Franchise Development Division Director of the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism Malaysia.

Under the franchise scheme, ADAMAS Weddings will assist young aspiring wedding planners to set up their own wedding planning business by providing centralised and technical support for their new start-up business.

Would-be entrepreneurs have two start-up options – opening their own shop or act as a microfranchisee. Microfranchisees are attached to a particular franchise centre and pay a monthly showroom and on-site coordination fee to the franchise centre. Initial investment is about RM22,800 for the microfranchisee business option and about RM250,000 for the franchise centre option (depending on the location and size of the shop). Franchise loan packages from the government are available to assist those with funding difficulties.

We believe the franchise program  is an excellent opportunity for young Malaysians, particularly women who are looking for a career change or chance to own their own business to learn more about how they can fulfill this dream,” said Dr Khoo.

Franchise business in Malaysia has seen s significant growth lately. Franchise is now a popular trend of doing business among new entrepreneurs in Malaysia.

As of August 2011, the Malaysian Government through various agencies has assisted and funded 80 local companies to franchise their businesses in order to expand their brands through franchisees local and abroad.

There are currently 378 registered local franchise brands in Malaysia. From these registered franchise brands, 4912 franchisees have been created locally and another 1321 franchisees have been established in 53 countries worldwide.

Upcoming 2011 Graduation

Written by Staff Writer

We has been very quiet for awhile I would have to admit, busy with our teaching as usual. This year, our graduation will be held on Thursday, 15 December 2011 at Hilton Kuala Lumpur.

This year, the theme for our graduation is XOXO – Sparkle Up in Love, hug & Kisses.

“XOXO” – symbol for hugs & kisses, an expression of affection and friendship. Truly representative of  ADAMAS students’ camaraderie.

“XOXO” – also a widely used symbol in the unassuming, interactive game of Tic Tac Toe. Appearing simple at first, the game leads up to 326,880 different sequences for placing the Xs and Os on the board.  Very similar to the task of Wedding Planning. Though appearing  fun and simple,  it actually takes a lots of effort and ingenuity to pull off.”
