A certified wedding specialist who has an eye for detail and a love for happy endings, awarded as the “Wedding Doctor” by The STAR (leading English Newspaper in Malaysia). Dr Kien Ling KHOO has always believed in Wedding Planner being a professional career just like any other consultant and every bride deserves to have a wedding planner.
It is this dual belief that explains her courageous move in establishing ADAMAS Weddings Sdn Bhd and ADAMAS School of Weddings. Professionally, Dr. Kien Ling KHOO spent nearly 7 years in the research field at University of Leicester. She then received her Doctorate title in 2003, upon completing her PhD in Computational Modelling and Dielectric Properties of the Hollandite. She also worked for Far East Paper Products Sdn Bhd as its Quality Management Representative for 3 years.
Kien Ling’s PhD demonstrates certain qualities which she leverages on to carve success for herself in her newfound trade. She sees wedding planning as understanding the couple (analysis), proposing concepts to the to-be-wed couple (conceptualization), sourcing suitable vendors for the wedding within the couple’s budget (execution) and making the couple’s big day a success (action).
In her words, she doesn’t think that one has to suffer or feel stressed while planning for her Big Day. Instead, “you should just sit back, relax and enjoy every single moment meant to be cherished for the rest of your life”.
Kien Ling is the author of the book “99 Tips for Your Wedding“, her book was published on 15 Dec 2011. The first RM15,000 was channeled into Breast Cancer Welfare Association Malaysia (BCWA).
Kien Ling is also no stranger to the media and public eye, having been on the air with local TV stations such as Live Interview on NTV 7 – Bella with Daphne Iking, Astro Bernama TV’s The Breakfast Club with Jessy Chahal, NTV 7 – The Breakfast Show and TV2 – Hello on TWO, local radio stations such as BFM 89.9 The Business Station to speak about the industry, as well as featured in major newspapers (English, Chinese & Malay Languages) such as The Star, New Straits Times, SME Newspaper, Sin Chew Daily, Oriental Daily, China Press, Harian Metro, Berita Harian and Mingguan mStar, magazine such as Shang Hai Business Monthly (商海), January 2012 – CITTA BELLA 都会佳人 and Mingguan Wanita. In addition, the University of Leicester‟s website in the United Kingdom, an Event Management Training website in Australia and Edvantage website in Singapore carried highlights of her entrepreneurial endeavors and experience. Kien Ling was invited as a panelist in the high profile Malaysia Young Female Entrepreneur Forum (MYFREN) and workshop organized by Hilton Kuala Lumpur. In 2011, USA based Event Solutions Spotlight Awards named her a finalist in the category of “Rising Star – Female“. Kien Ling was nominated again for the same award in 2012.
Furthermore, as a well travelled person, Kien Ling has been widely exposed to different cultures of people and places visited. These experiences and close contacts with these people from different countries and regions has always inspired her to be more creative and open minded.

Kien Ling recently introduced a new wedding management concept – ADAMAS Wedding Management Concept, this new concept transforms the conventional wedding planning and coordination into a fully automated process by using the ADAMAS Management System (custom designed software). With this new concept, the Certified Wedding Specialist (wedding planner trained at ADAMAS School of Weddings) will have less stress and lucrative income and the brides will have a planner that serves them with quality time, and provide best value for money, creating a win-win situation.
